I have been speaking to Penny and Darryl who are getting married at Gosfield Hall on Thursday 20th June 2013 to find out their story so far and how it feels with just 2 weeks to go until the big day!
“We looked at a number of venues to begin with but always knew it would have to be one of the Country House Weddings venues as we had heard so many good things. Before viewing Gosfield Hall we had concerns that it may be too big for us but I loved it so much I had to view any way! It was so impressive from the outside and as soon as we walked through the door we were both extremely excited! By the time we had finished our viewing we knew it was perfect and although the venue is big, the rooms inside are all perfectly sized for both smaller and larger weddings.”
“The viewing experience was very real as the house was all set up for a wedding and it was explained exactly how our day would take place. It really helped to make our decision.”
“Once we had booked our date and received confirmation it came alive for us. This was it, we were really doing it and we started planning everything straight away. I already knew what I wanted and Darryl was happy to go with the flow because he trusts me with my choices. He likes to be involved and to know what is going on but is happy to sit back and let me do the organising. It was so exciting to be able to tell everyone that we had a date and everyone was so excited for us too. Having been to other people’s weddings you get a feel for what you like and things that you would do differently for yourself. Darryl and I have both always wanted a modern but traditional wedding and we knew that we wanted our close family and friends around us. I’m very lucky that Darryl is happy to go with the flow and let my dreams become a reality!”
“With only two weeks to go it has suddenly become very real, we are both excited but also starting to get nervous now. I think there are always worries about things going wrong or not being right on the day but there is always a solution and we would rather enjoy the build up than spend the time worrying. We’d like everything to be perfect but it’s about us getting married and making a commitment to one another that’s the most important thing and as long as that happens then we will be happy. The whole experience has been exciting for both of us. It helps that the front of house managers know exactly what they are doing and will put all your elements together to make the day. It’ll be very strange once it’s all over, I don’t think we will know what to do with our time! When we received the running order of the day and sat down to read it, it made me feel really emotional because I could see our day in my mind and I can imagine exactly how I am going to feel when it happens for real. Darryl doesn’t get emotional and will probably just laugh at me which will make me laugh too. I don’t want to do too much crying and ruin my make up!!!!!”
Thank you so much to Penny and Darryl for sharing their experience to date and we look forward to sharing the final chapter!
