Dinner Date Evening – Tuesday 22nd January 2019

With Christmas been and gone, January is a a time to look at the new year ahead! Are you getting married this year? Would you like to reminisce on your special day, or maybe buy a gift for your Husband or Wife for an anniversary? Our Dinner Dates are just the thing to acquaint (or reacquaint!) yourself with our lovely venue and its amazing food & drink offerings.

The house is open from 5.00pm for you to wander at your leisure, visit bedrooms you have not yet seen, take in the gorgeous Queens Gallery again or stroll around the grounds of the house, if you want to brave the cold!

Dinner is then served at 8.00pm where just the two of you can dine, or you can bring mum’s and dads, sisters, brothers, best men or bridesmaids too… The more the merrier!

Our Head Chef, Nikki, has put together a specially selected menu, from our main menu, for you to come along and enjoy…

 

Starters

  

Baked Camembert Tart (V)

Poached William pear topped with rich and creamy Camembert encased with puff pastry

Duck Confit

On a bed of pickled red cabbage with a toasted sesame and honey dressing

Warm Chicken Salad

Served with celeriac remoulade, pancetta and sage

Smoked Haddock Rarebit

Soft poached egg with creamy smoked Haddock on a toasted crouton topped with a Welsh rarebit

 

Mains

 

Roast Leg of Lamb

Served with redcurrant & rosemary stuffing and a rich roast jus

Slow Braised Belly of Pork

Served on buttered Savoy cabbage with fondant potatoes & a rich cider & sage jus

Roasted Vegetable Wellington (V)

Roasted seasonal vegetables encrusted in puff pastry served with a cranberry reduction

Herb Crusted Salmon

On a bed of julienne vegetables with a chive butter sauce

Desserts

 

Chocolate Torte

A rich chocolate mousse set on a brandy soaked sponge, garnished with cream and even more chocolate!

Baked White Chocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake

A butter biscuit base with rich cream cheese topping served with a raspberry coulis

Sticky Toffee Pudding

Served with toffee sauce and Baileys cream

Apple and Blackberry Tart with Blackberry Ice Cream

Crisp butter pastry filled with Autumn fruits topped with Almond frangipane
