There’s nothing more elegant than a Black-Tie Wedding, Jenilee and Stuart’s special day was no exception. The day oozed with class, sophistication and lots of fiddly black ties! What topped this day off even more was that it was a Christmas Wedding which just made it beyond perfect.
After being together for around 5 years having met at a friends engagement party, Stuart and Jenilee got engaged after climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Stuarts birthday! Stuart recalls feeling very nervous as he thought that the check in staff at the airport would open his luggage and pull out Jenilees engagement ring! He decided to place the ring in his trouser pocket for the entire flight so he didn’t lose it.
Jenliee and Stuart were so excited to start planning their wedding and quickly decided on a winter black tie themed day in Essex where they are both from. They chose Gosfield Hall for their day as with the roaring fire, beautiful towering Christmas trees and stunning building seeped in History, they knew it was the perfect place to become husband and wife. With so many family members coming to enjoy their big day, they knew the accommodation on site would be a god send!
The fabulously talented Fiona Elizabeth photography was on hand all day to capture these amazing shots. Making sure the girls were at ease; she shot Jenilee with her bridemaids Lisa, Lorna and Rachael getting pampered in the Ladies Chambers by hairdresser and make-up artist Dawn Taylor. They sipped champagne and ate yummy croissants whilst listening to some soothing Lucy Rose music.
Meanwhile, the staff were busy setting the scene by preparing the Grand Hall ready for the ceremony to start. Jenilee and Stuart chose our gorgeous burgundy sashes to compliment the aisle runner and gold detail on the beautiful Christmas trees. Flowers were provided by The Willows which fit in perfectly with their winter colour scheme.
Stuart was busy getting ready to marry his princess and opted for a Fitzgerald black suit from TM Lewin – very dapper! You can see that Stuarts face is hiding a mixture of emotions, nervous, happy, excited! Not long to go now Stuart…
Wow. We adore Jenilees chic dress by Justin Alexander from Bird’s Bridal in Chelmsford – simply breathtaking.
Jenilee and her Bridesmaids, very ‘Vanity Fair’ ladies…
Proud dad moment!
Happy families! Jenilee and cousin Rachael look gorgeous and look at those matching smiles from twins Stuart and Best Man Graham!
The guests then braved the cold to get this wonderful group shot of the whole wedding party. Confetti at the ready…
Onto the Wedding Breakfast in the grandeur Ballroom. Jenilee and Stuart continued their Burgundy colour scheme whilst Wild Partridge supplied the stationary for the tables, they named each table after the Reindeers, what a cute idea!
Speeches are always such a poignant part of the day and nerves can be on edge but look how stunning and relaxed it all looks on reflection. Jenilee’s dad is doing a wonderful job and she was so proud of him.
Newleyweds Mr & Mrs Yelland share a quiet moment together next to our infamous stags.
The traditional cutting of the cake, Jenilee and Stuart chose this rustic and elegant cake from Little Lucy’s Bakery. The 4 tiers consisted of Carrot, Madeira and Lemon topped with buttercream icing, fresh flowers and pine cones. To top it off they selected silver stag toppers from Etsy to compliment their theme. We hear the cake lasted a week after this! Who wouldn’t like to have cake for 3 meals a day?
Their guests looked on in admiration as the happy couple have their first dance to ‘At Last’ by Beyonce.
Then everyone hit the dance floor for a boys vs girls sing off!
‘It really was the best day of our lives’
