With so many couples getting engaged over the Christmas and New Year holidays, our thoughts are on gorgeous rings, exquisite dresses and amazing weddings at Gosfield Hall… One of the biggest decisions is the colour theme and one of our favourite colours is aqua, which is great for Winter or Summer weddings as it can be coupled with so many colours… and it looks perfect in the Ballroom at Gosfield Hall!!
First on the list is the ring and this emerald cut aqua sapphire is held with a delicate leaf design set with diamonds… your friends will be green with envy.
Why not be brave and opt for aqua instead of ivory or white for your wedding gown? This 50’s inspired gown is covered in tiny pleated frills and looks equally amazing against a backdrop of snow or in bright summer sunshine.
Carry on the 50’s feel with this gorgeous dress which would be perfect for bridesmaids. Tiny aqua fabric covered buttons and a sheer lace back, compliment the full aqua undershirt beautifully.
Play with colours, apricot is a great colour to combine with aqua… this tiny flowergirl looks like an angel in this full shirted layered tulle skirt, decorated with aqua roses… what a sweetie, who I am sure will be spinning like a ballerina as soon as the opportunity arises.
Aqua is such a good shade to wear, whatever your eye colour or skin tone. Remember to keep lighter shades on the inner half of the eye lid and a slightly darker shade on the outside, blended carefully into the eye socket. Don’t go too mad with the darker khol on the inside of the eye, this will make your eyes look smaller; instead opt for a soft pastel aqua shade underneath the eye.
For those of you who want to add a touch of aqua, why not add one of these wonderful corsages… they can be placed on the waist, on the small of the back, or on the bust line of any dress. Tailor make them to include lace, ribbons and tulle and finish with a vintage pearl brooch.
For those who dare to be different, these shoes really will be a talking point…. with a peep toe showing perfectly manicured ties and a ribbon bow, these aqua high heels have a little hidden platform, which gives you the extra height but means that they are really comfortable to wear. Perfect for dancing the night away!!
If you prefer a more casual look, theses pretty ballet pumps would look great with either dress… and who said Converse trainers were scruffy? These are decorated with aqua piping and coupled with socks to match!
Make an end to boring garters… this vintage lace garter has been decorated with fabric roses and aqua ribbons. Pearl brooches and diamantes complete the look and add a twist. You could utilise these for the cake too by using them as bands to decorate the tiers.
This hand tied bouquet of blue hydrangeas and delicate white blooms is beautiful. Aqua is such a great colour to couple with pale pinks, fuchsias, orange and apricots… it also looks stunning with zingy lemon and lime green.
For the modern Groom this clean cut grey suit with narrow lapels looks wonderful with a crisp white shirt and skinny aqua tie… add a tiny bobby pin as an alternative to a button hole for a look that is totally on trend.
These Aqua bobby pins can be used as button holes or as a pretty and feminine addition to your hair. These are decorated with tiny pearls. Why not use them as decoration on place cards or for your wedding cake too?
Remember the gorgeous bridal gown… this has to be the perfect cake to match! Covered in Aqua pleated frills just like the dress.
Table centres can be elegant at any time of the year… our feature image shows white hydrangeas have been placed with apricot roses in a sparkling aqua vase and aqua baubles complete the fabulous arrangement. Ideal for summer or winter weddings!
For a more rustic feel, these mason jars are perfect…. In tones of aqua and grey, they are simply filled with bunches of white hydrangeas. Clear aqua jars would look great with a single stem.
We can guarantee you a wonderful wedding day but the one thing we cannot guarantee is the weather… for the summer shower or the threat of snow in the winter; why not decorate your wellies with a rose to compliment your theme, tied with ribbon or with raffia for a more rustic feel. Whatever the weather an aqua colour theme will transport you to calm waters and sunny climes…Go aqua at Gosfield Hall and let your imagination take you wherever you dream to be.
