The wedding trends that will inspire your autumn 2022 nuptials

Every bride- and groom-to-be has hopes of planning a worry-free wedding. But if organising your autumn wedding is stressing you out, the season’s hottest trends might just provide the inspiration you need to put wedding planning woes aside and really get excited about your special day.

The autumn season is brimming with lots of fantastic wedding ideas. In this blog post, we reveal just a few of the trends that should inspire your autumn 2022 nuptials.

The modern wedding look is back

Whilst the autumn weddings of yesteryear favoured rustic themes and colour schemes, things are looking a little more contemporary for 2022. Couples marrying in autumn are swapping the whimsical, dreamy colour palettes favoured in previous years for warm metallics and creative pops of colour.

Wedding scenes decorated with handwritten chalk boards and rustic wooden signage are also slipping out of favour this season, with custom neon signs providing more modern décor options that also double as the perfect keepsakes.

Forget the weather, it’s all about the weekender

The weather conditions experienced during autumn may be hit and miss but that isn’t stopping couples jumping onto the weekend wedding trend. Seen widely in spring and summer, weekend weddings are still going strong into autumn with the less favourable weather conditions failing to put a dampener on these two- or three-day wedding celebrations.

As Lucy Meehan Events explains, there are many perks that go hand-in-hand with keeping the party going that little bit longer:

“A weekend wedding isn’t just a way of stretching out celebrations. A wedding is such an important occasion and one that you spend months and sometimes years planning. Before you know it, the day arrives, you enjoy every moment but then it goes by so quickly… Not only does this give you the chance to experience so much more with your guests but it gives you so many opportunities to be creative.”

Bridal gowns are getting more colourful

Expanding your horizons beyond the usual white, ivory and cream shades reserved for brides is no new thing. But as the creations of many of the bridal designers featured at autumn 2022 fashion weeks showed, adding more colour is simpler and more sophisticated than ever.

Blush pink and yellow dresses provide more colourful bridal options without being too ‘out there’. These designs look great at autumn nuptials as well as offer a break with tradition and a push beyond the boundaries of bridalwear.

Registries reimagined with great gifts for honeymooners

Increasingly over the past decade or so, marrying couples have favoured monetary gifts from their guests. This autumn, things are taking another step forward with wedding gift registries specifically collated with those first weeks of married bliss in mind.

The honeymoon registry is a trend that’s growing rapidly. From funds to experiences, honeymoon registries give guests the chance to gift something a little different and extra memorable to that special couple in their lives.
