Whilst we’re firm believers that you don’t need to recruit external wedding planners to organise the day of your dreams, we don’t expect our couples to go it alone. Our Personal Wedding Managers are on hand to help plan the day and run the wedding from the moment the couple arrives to the moment they leave!
There are a few tips and tricks called on by planners that make organising a wedding as enjoyable as it should be, however. Read on to discover the best advice from our wedding planning experts.
Your budget isn’t the only list you’ll need to make
So you’ve made your wedding budget and you’re checking it twice before starting the epic task of planning your big day, but contrary to popular belief, your wedding budget isn’t the only list you’ll need to prepare.
Teaming a realistic budget with a list of your wedding wants and needs is a must for striking the balance between an affordable and truly inspired wedding day. By working out a list of non-negotiables and things you love, you can manage your budget better and even make room for those extra special touches that really make your day.
Package deals don’t mean compromise
When it comes to your wedding budget, making your money go further is important to every couple, whether you have a generous budget to work with or you’re still in the process of saving. Choosing from our venue’s range of wedding packages doesn’t mean compromise or a one-size-fits-all wedding day.
We see our packages and offers as a starting point that will help you build the big day you’ve always wanted. Thanks to clear, honest pricing, you can make your wedding day work for your budget, your guest numbers, and your wants and needs.
Beware of blackout dates
You’ll of course need to do a little digging to ensure that your venue meets your needs and works for your desired dates. When picking a day that works, there’s more to think about than picking a date that’s sentimental and/or convenient for you.
All couples should beware of wedding blackout dates. These dates correspond to days when a special event is taking place within the local area, regionally or nationally. Booking your wedding on one of these blackout dates can cause a lot of hassle for you and your guests, with traffic and hotel room availability likely to be affected.
Prioritise your guests by importance
This approach may sound a little cutthroat but prioritising guests by their importance really can stop you from going OTT with your guest list. By grouping your guests as A list, B list and C list, you can devise a guest list that complements your budget and enables you to share your special day with all the people who mean something to you.
Both you and your partner should work together when grouping guests into their relevant lists. Confetti offers their advice for doing just that:
“‘Compromise’ is the name of the game when it comes to agreeing your wedding guest list together, though you may find there are some people you would desperately love to invite, but who your fiancé would rather you didn’t…There are solutions to the most difficult of wedding guest list dilemmas and the important thing to keep in mind is that this is your wedding day, so both of you should feel comfortable with all the names on the list.”
Use recommendations to find the suppliers you need
Finding the wedding vendors that will help you plan your special day isn’t always easy. Whilst looking at reviews online is a great way to sort the wheat from the chaff, it certainly isn’t 100% reliable.
Use word-of-mouth recommendations when sourcing suppliers. Couples marrying at Gosfield Hall don’t have to search too far to find endorsements that lead them to local talent. We provide a list of trusted wedding suppliers, all of which have been vetted and recommended by our team. Our recommended suppliers also come with the added bonus of knowing Gosfield better than any other wedding vendor.
