Stuart and I felt that getting married at Gosfield Hall was an absolute dream come true!
We decided on a winter black tie themed wedding in Essex where we are from, as we are currently living in Singapore for work. We looked at 2 venues and decided on Gosfield Hall for our special day, as with the roaring fires, beautiful towering Christmas trees and building steeped in history it felt like the perfect place to become husband and wife We also really liked that Gosfield Hall had so many rooms on site for close family guests to stay over and all have breakfast the next morning together. Stuart and I both love Christmas time and see it as the perfect family time of year for a wedding, plus we felt the week before Christmas would be romantic and festive and everyone would feel like celebrating.
The candles, stags, beautiful flowers and cake, as well of course as all our family and close friends to share our special occasion, it really was the best day of our lives.
Jan our personal wedding manager was amazing and made sure the day went perfectly with no dramas, just a really happy day and evening which ended with sparklers, mulled wine and our fabulous band Breakthrough. Jan was completely reliable, friendly and professional and we felt so lucky to have our wedding in her extremely capable hands. Jan made planning a wedding from Singapore a breeze!
The ceremony was amazing, so intimate with the log fire burning, our chosen music and everyone special around us to share that happy moment.
Getting ready in the cottage with my bridesmaids Lisa, Lorna and Rachael and our make up artists was a real highlight. We sipped champagne and ate tasty croissants and listened to ‘Lucy rose’ music and get chilled, pampered and ready to go!
Having photos taken in the beautiful Bridal Suite and by the Stag outside with Fiona our fabulously talented photographer who made us feel calm and at ease all day was a really special moment.
We’ll never forget the amazing feeling of walking into the Grand Ballroom and seeing how incredible it looked. Then eating our wedding breakfast was really delicious – best roast beef we’ve ever had.
Sparklers were so much fun outside later on in the evening! It brought everyone together. We can’t wait to come back to Gosfield for their Winter Ball!…
