We are delighted to announce that Gosfield Hall has won an award at Hitched Wedding Awards 2024 in the Stately Home Wedding Venue Category. This award was given thanks to all the amazing reviews and testimonials that our couples gave us in 2023!
We were voted ‘Best Stately Home Wedding Venue’ at the British Wedding Awards 2020, having been shortlisted in this category at both Hitched’s UK Wedding Awards AND the British Wedding Awards last year, so winning it in 2020 was amazing! We were incredibly proud to have won this award at the UK Wedding Awards in 2018 and were shortlisted for it in 2017.
We were also voted finalists at the British Wedding Awards 2015 and won the Wedding Venue of the Year (Heritage) award at the Essex Wedding Awards 2012. Finally, we were proud to be voted Best UK Wedding Venue 2011 by the readers of Wedding Ideas – arguably the UK’s most prestigious wedding award.
The house was beautiful. In the build-up to our wedding Ellie could not be more helpful and always checked in to make sure we were stress free for the big day! Excellent staff, very friendly to all our guests.
Ellie had the whole day so well organised so we could just enjoy ourselves. She really is an asset to Gosfield!

Linda was excellent and very efficient, friendly and welcoming. On our wedding day all staff were fantastic, a trouble-free experience. Faye Carter was absolutely perfect, professional, could not do enough for us – a complete pleasure to deal with from start to finish and a really lovely lady.
Wedding breakfast food was to a very high standard, all guest complimented the three-course meal, generous portions and enjoyed by all. Bar staff very attentive and friendly. Faye Carter – made our day perfect from beginning to end.
Linda was very communicative and answered a lot of questions we had before, during and after our visit, and got us booked in very quickly to see Gosfield Hall.
The set up of the house internally was gorgeous, clean and very grand. the ceremony room was set up to beyond our hearts desires and library was set up with all our personal details very nicely and nothing looked cramped or poor quality.
The team at Gosfield Hall have impeccable attention to detail. We had a lovely time meeting some of the managers at the evening dinner too and of course trying out all the food! We would like to express our immense gratitude for the exceptional wedding experience we had at Gosfield Hall. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives, and this was largely due to the outstanding support and dedication of our wedding manager, Faye. Faye provided personalised and expert guidance throughout the build-up: From our initial meeting, where Faye meticulously reviewed the running order AKA the wedding bible, to the final execution of our day, her guidance was invaluable. Thank you, Faye, and the entire team at Gosfield Hall, for creating such an unforgettable experience.
The wedding breakfast was so delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal and each drink! As far as I heard, everyone really enjoyed the food, and I really appreciate all the communication via Faye to the Chef for all the different dietary requirements and allergies that were resolved and given appropriate dishes for each guest and myself (Zena) with my cucumber allergy! Every single dish was so delicious.
We absolutely loved the venue! Very tasteful Christmas decorations to. Despite living in Australia, the staff did a great job in helping us to facilitate an online tour. Great staff and service. Hardworking, accommodating and very professional.
Ellie did a phenomenal job! She was extremely well organised, professional, proactive and made us felt at ease. She helped us to have a great day knowing that everything was under control. Linda was a delight. I started emailing 4 years ago to check prices each year while we saved up, every time she was lovely and friendly and answered any questions I had.
The grounds and house itself were stunning, looked straight out of a catalogue. Ellie should be called Angie as she’s an Angel in disguise. She was so kind and reassuring, helped us deal with unexpected price changes. She helped us with guests who changed their minds. She was a star right from the beginning. All the staff at Gosfield are such lovely people, there was no one i met that was rude, snippy, or seemed uninterested. Everyone i spoke to was charming and friendly. I’m not sure i will ever be able to enjoy another meal as much as I enjoyed that one! The waiters and bar staff were perfect. Please let Ellie know that she’s so appreciated for everything she did.
Very in-depth first viewing, the lady who took us around the venue had all the answers and information ready, a smooth transaction. Everyone I emailed before we were given our wedding planner was helpful, always acknowledged emails and sent payment confirmations.
When we were introduced to our wedding planner Ellie it was fantastic, she is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. She listened, understood everything, had all of us of details down to the finest print, always available. Overall, Ellie was a literal dream! Fantastic food, everyone has spoken about how great the food was! A big thank you to all the staff, they were fantastic and so friendly! Overall, just a huge thank you. Our wedding day was exactly how we dreamed it would be thanks to the staff! And Ellie is amazing!
Just wanted to ask you to pass on my heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Gosfield Hall. Every single member of staff we came across had a hand in making Chloe and Brads Wedding a perfect day.
Tara both in the build up to the wedding and particularly on the day was outstanding. Not only did she ensure everything ran smoothly, she also helped keep Chloe and Brad (and all of us) calm and reassured that everything was in order.
All of our family and friends commented on what an exceptional day it was. The food was superb, the décor was amazing and the service was exceptional.

Ellie, our Personal Wedding Manager was so quick, efficient, and easy to deal with throughout the whole process. Everyone said the food was incredible. The bar staff, they were all amazing.
We were expecting a stressful process due to what other people have told me about getting married, but we encountered none of this stress from the Gosfield Hall team.

Gosfield Hall is stunning and extremely well decorated. We had our Ceremony in the Queens Gallery and it will always hold a place in our hearts as a highlight of the day.
The Rococo Suite is especially spectacular and is fitting for a King or Queen.
Tara was amazing as a wedding planning and was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the wedding build up and the day itself.
