We are delighted to announce that Gosfield Hall has won an award at Hitched Wedding Awards 2024 in the Stately Home Wedding Venue Category. This award was given thanks to all the amazing reviews and testimonials that our couples gave us in 2023!
We were voted Best Stately Home Wedding Venue at the British Wedding Awards 2020, having been shortlisted in this category at both Hitched’s UK Wedding Awards AND the British Wedding Awards last year! We were incredibly proud to have won this award at the UK Wedding Awards in 2018 and shortlisted for it in 2017.
In 2015, we were finalists at the British Wedding Awards and won the Wedding Venue of the Year (Heritage) award at the Essex Wedding Awards 2012. And in 2011, voted Best UK Wedding Venue by the readers of Wedding Ideas.
We were so lucky to have had the most amazing wedding day at Gosfield Hall.

Ellie, our Personal Wedding Manager, was the most incredible person ever. She is unbelievable at her job and made the whole experience so smooth. On our wedding day, all the staff members were friendly, professional and provided top service.
All of our family and friends echoed how incredible she was — she went above and beyond in every way, and everyone noticed it. We honestly couldn’t have imagined our day without her. Ellie, thank you for making our wedding not only stress-free but genuinely unforgettable. You are phenomenal at what you do! Our wedding breakfast was unreal food and so many compliments.
Incredibly helpful staff and quick response times to queries. We had several tours of the venue, all super detailed, friendly and kind. Really liked everyone we met.
In addition, all members of staff working at the wedding provided the highest standard of service. Lots of my guests commented on this, and it just made the day so much better! Thank you!!
Faye was unbelievable. She was super calm, in control and got everything done on time. The wedding breakfast food was really delicious and served super timely. Faye!!! I’m so beyond grateful that Faye was our Personal Wedding Manager; she made the day so much better.
The presentation of the house internally was phenomenal – every time we visited it was immaculate, and that was no different on the big day.
The ceremony room and reception rooms were exactly how we envisaged them. The grounds are fantastically maintained, and everything was beautiful. Service both before and on the day was fantastic. Any queries we had were responded to quickly, we came and saw the venue multiple times prior to the wedding and had multiple meetings with our Personal Wedding Planner – nothing was too much!
We have nothing negative to say about the service on the day; food and bar service were smooth and quick, and everyone was so friendly! I cannot express how amazing Ellie was in the lead-up and on our wedding day. Nothing was too much of an ask, and she kept the day going so smoothly, and it was organised perfectly.
The house internally is absolutely stunning, with so many perfect details and character. Externally, the house and grounds were beautifully presented, with well-maintained greenery. The building has beautiful features.
Prior to the wedding, Faye was amazing! We couldn’t have wished for any better. Faye was able to answer any questions and helped out so much with changes, which, annoyingly, were quite frequent, but she always made me feel comfortable and happy to help. I couldn’t begin to write enough words to describe how amazing Faye was! She was an absolute godsend on the day and came to the rescue many a time, and on top of all that, she had the most calming, friendly presence, which made me feel so at ease on such an important day. She made everything so perfect for us and gave me so much reassurance in any moments I was nervous. She is amazing! Also, Elyssa (so sorry if I’ve spelt wrong), both were very helpful!
Looked stunning; the house always takes my breath away. Stunning, well-presented, and the grass looked very luscious (husband is an ex-groundskeeper, so high praise indeed!).
All guests remarked on the level of luxury in the bedrooms. The bridal suite was lovely, and the bed was so comfy! Lucy showed us around the venue initially and made us completely fall in love with the place! She was so attentive and listened to our ideas, giving suggestions of what we could do to make our day even more special. Because of Lucy’s excellent service, we knew Gosfield was for us!
Ellie and Hayden were incredible with answering our millions of questions, giving us information, and just being so accommodating. Ellie especially would answer emails at all hours and always replied so quickly. She absolutely put my mind at ease! Ellie and the team were just fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, and everyone was just so smiley and friendly. Our Personal Wedding Manager, Ellie – If I could do higher than excellent, I would. Ellie is an absolute diamond; she kept me calm in the morning and couldn’t do enough for us. She made us feel so relaxed and made sure everything was absolutely perfect. We can’t thank Ellie enough for just being amazing and working so hard!
Such lovely food, one guest (who is typically very critical) actually said it was the best wedding breakfast she had ever had! The changes we’d been able to make to suit our tastes were perfect, and I just wish I’d been able to eat more (we were just so hot we couldn’t eat it all!).
My friend just recently got married here. A beautiful location with top-quality staff. The service was 10/10. Polite, professional, and accommodating.
The food was amazing, from the canapés to the breakfast in the morning. First time having scallops in my life, they tasted great! The Beef Wellington was amazing! And the trio of desserts was unbelievable. The rooms were massive, vintage-looking, and truly beautiful. The card room has a stunning view! Not a spec of dust in sight!
I had the honour of being one of 6 groomsmen for the day, so a huge mention has to go to Faye. Wow, what a true professional in her trade! Faye’s leadership and organisation skills were impeccable; the fact that she kept all 6 men very busy throughout the day shows her true patience. But jokes aside, an incredible young lady who is a true credit to Gosfield Hall.
If you are seriously looking for a 5* venue with 5* service with the 5* food, then this is the place for you! Thank you, Faye and the rest of the team, for making my friend’s big day so special and a day that none of us will forget. You are all fantastic!
It was an excellent event location; the staff were invaluable and friendly. We attended a friend’s wedding, and it was a fantastic experience.
The food was lovely and impressed even some of the fussiest eaters at our table. One drawback is the lack of mobile signal.
We had the absolute pleasure of having our wedding at Gosfield Hall. We were so, so lucky to have Jocie as our wedding planner, and it could not have been more perfect.
Jocie was professional, understanding, helpful and guided us through the entire process with grace and ease. Jocie ensured everything ran smoothly, and as the bride, I was completely shocked that I wasn’t bothered by anything on the morning of the wedding. Jocie organised everything, assisted with decision making and continued clear communication throughout the planning process.

Gosfield Hall has a stunning interior with beautiful features. Externally, the venue is so visually striking, and we get goosebumps every time we drive up to the manor house.
We loved the beautiful courtyard, flowers and gardens. There are so many wonderful outdoor spots. He bedrooms – We love how each room is individually different and how breathtaking the views from the rooms are. Definitely get what you pay for!
We received a warm welcome on our first visit; all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Everyone there was amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. We were very lucky to have Ellie Hills as our wedding co-ordinator. There are not enough kind words to describe how incredible she was and the quality of service we received. She was so thoughtful and organised at our planning meeting, and we felt confident knowing the day would be perfect. Ellie and the entire team at Gosfield were fantastic.
Everything ran smoothly, and nothing was too much trouble. The team worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best day, and we can’t thank them enough. We knew from our food tasting at Gosfield that the wedding breakfast would be delicious; however, it exceeded expectations. All of our guests commented on the quality and taste of each course. He bar staff were always on hand to top up drinks and take orders.
